Policetrainingonline.com is a direct result of my job.  I am the training sergeant for one of the fastest growing cities in the United States during the 1990's.  That fact made my job very challenging as we were quickly adding new officers every year.  The training and FTO staffs were overwhelmed.  

Training personnel receive dozens of training announcements every week.  There is just no way for us to keep track of all that training.  As soon as you threw out a training announcement, someone would come in and ask for information about that type of a class.  You would have to then spend valuable time researching for that training.  I started this website as a means for me to keep track of all the training opportunities out there.  An easy way to access information on classes that we needed to send people to.

I decided to use the internet instead of just developing an in house system so others could benefit also.  I know the realities of financing for police departments being a full time sworn officer.  They are cheap, cheap, cheap.  That's not a bad thing.  There just isn't enough money for everything we want to do.  I knew that whatever I did would have to be very inexpensive.  It is free for anyone to look up classes.  You can't get any more inexpensive than that.  

I also want to offer training staffs with additional benefits that other training sites do not offer.  Remember, I am a working cop assigned to a training unit.  I know the daily challenges involved and want to work with other training professionals to make our job easier.
